Mads Mikkelsen & Sigourney Weaver Star in Hannibal Creator’s Dust Bunny Trailer

Roadside Attractions has shared the official trailer for Dust Bunny, the upcoming action horror drama led by Doctor Strange star Mads Mikkelsen. The movie will have its world premiere tomorrow at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will then be followed by theatrical release on December 5, 2025.

What is seen in the Dust Bunny trailer?

The video introduces Mikkelsen as a hitman who gets hired by a young girl who believes that her parents have been eaten by the monster under her bed. Together, they will have to confront each other’s monsters. The trailer also highlights some of the movie’s action-packed sequences, teasing the real-life monsters they’re up against. The movie also stars Sophie Sloan, Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, Sheila Atim, and Rebecca Henserson.

Described as fantastical and wickedly inventive, Dust Bunny is written and directed by Bryan Fuller in his feature-length directorial debut. He’s best known as the series creator of Pushing Daisies, Hannibal, and Star Trek Discovery. The movie is produced by Fuller, Basil Iwanyk, and Erica Lee, with Jillian Share, Zev Foreman, Fred Bernstein, Rick Jackson, Jen Gorton, Charlie Morrison, and Victor Moyers serving as executive producers. The creative team consists of cinematographer Nicole Hirsch Whitaker, editor Lisa Lassek, and production designer Jeremy Reed, alongside costume designers Catherine Leterrier and Olivier Beriot.

“In the film, ten-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor who kills real-life monsters. He’s a hit man for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services,” reads the official synopsis. “Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, Aurora’s neighbor guiltily takes the job. Now, to protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins ― and accept that some monsters are real.”
