It's probably fair to say that a television series doesn't need to become an overnight sensation in order to become a genuine classic. In fact, some of the biggest and best shows of the past twenty years certainly took their time to get noticed, like Breaking Bad. But those shows just quietly do the work in the background and get on with creating quality storytelling while the rest of us catch up like idiots, knowing we should have been on the ball from the start.
