KFC fans, brace yourself, something brand new is coming.

The fast food chain has just unveiled its next limited-edition drop, and it involves a rather controversial ingredient: Pickles.

From March 23, an entire Pickle Mania menu will be launching nationwide, featuring three pickle-themed food items and even a pickle drink.

The brand claims it’s officially entering its ‘pickle era’ with this release, but it’s going to be a short one, as the new items will only be around for a few short weeks.

What’s on KFC’s new pickle menu?

First up is a new Pickle Burger featuring an Original Recipe chicken fillet stacked with sliced gherkins, pickle ranch sauce, crispy pickle chips, and a new pickle seasoning, all inside a glazed sesame bun.

KFC claims it’s a ‘seriously bold build’ with ‘extra kick’, and it’ll cost £6.99 on its own, £8.99 as a meal or £10.99 as a box meal.

Then there are Pickle Loaded Fries (£3.99), which see classic KFC fries given a ‘tangy twist’ as they’re topped with pickle flavours.

Frickles (AKA Fried Pickles) are the final new foodie item, and as the name suggests, these are golden, deep-fried pickles that are ideal for snacking on or dunking. You can get your hands on them for just £2.49.

Finally, all of this can be washed down with a Pickle Pepsi Max (£2.39). This divisive drink sees a regular Pepsi Max served with a side of pickle juice, so customers can mix in as much as they’d like for a ‘fizzy, customisable mash-up’.

Those who are ‘true pickle heads’ can also enjoy the Pickle Mania Meal, which combines all four new items in a bundle for £12.99.

But you’ll have to be quick if you want to try them all, as the pickle menu is only available until April 19 and KFC warns ‘once it’s gone, it’s gone’.

What are people saying about the pickle menu?

On social media, KFC fans are already going wild over the new products, with @thebigbrinelondon hailing the pickle menu as ‘unreal’.

Similarly, @gemstario said it was their ‘kinda heaven’ as @toni93.x wrote: ‘Is this real? This better be real!’

Others branded it ‘insane’, but not everyone was keen on it, with some claiming it was their ‘worst nightmare’.

Speaking about the new launch, James Channon, brand manager for KFC UK & Ireland, said: ‘For too long now, pickles have been treated as a supporting character, quietly doing their job. We thought it was time they had their moment.

‘Pickle Mania is KFC going all‑in and letting pickles take centre stage as the hero they were always meant to be. Four deliciously pickle-packed products, and each bursting with briny flavour, even a pickle Pepsi Max.’

This comes after McDonald’s launched its brand new March menu, featuring its ‘best ever’ breakfast item.

After 23 years, McGriddles have finally made their way over to the UK from the US. These are similar to a McMuffin, with sausage, egg, and cheese, but with maple-flavoured griddle cakes sandwiching the filling together.

There’s also a new Cadbury Mini Egg Frappe, a Cadbury Mini Egg McFlurry, and a new Cards meal.

The meal features classics like the Big Mac, McNuggets or a McPlant, plus a pack of four collector’s cards, featuring iconic Maccies characters like Ronald, Grimace, and the chain’s OG mascot, Speedee.

Several fan-favourites have also returned to the UK menu, including the Double Big Mac and Double Big Mac with Bacon, Spicy McNuggets, and the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry.

The new and returning items will be available nationwide from March 17 for six weeks.
