Kannappa OTT release: When and where to watch Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal’s film

Mukesh Kumar Singh's directorial debut Kannappa, a devotional film starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, was released in theatres on 27 June 2025. After its release, the film received mixed reactions from audiences and critics. While many praised its grand set and story, some said that the length and grip of the story in the film were weak. Now after about two and a half months, the film is coming on OTT.

When and where to watch Kannappa?

Vishnu Manchu informed on social media platform X (earlier Twitter) that Kannappa will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 4 September 2025. He wrote in his post, "Witness the epic, spirit of sacrifice & divinity. #KANNAPPA releases digitally on Sept 4, 2025 only on Prime Video. Har Har Mahadev. Har Ghar Mahadev." Fans gave multiple reactions to this announcement. Someone wrote that it is better than Hari Hara Veera Mallu, while some viewers said that they are going to watch the film only for Prabhas. At the same time, some people were surprised why the film took so long to come on OTT, while usually Telugu films come on digital platforms within 30 days of release.

The story of the film is based on a tribal warrior Thinnadu played by Vishnu Manchu, who is an atheist in the beginning. But over time his life changes and he becomes an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. In the film, Vishnu Manchu's son Avram plays the role of Chhota Thinnadu. Preeti Mukundan plays the role of Thinnadu's girlfriend Nemli. Apart from this, Akshay has played the role of Lord Shiva and Kajal Aggarwal has played the role of Mata Parvati. The special thing is that big stars like Prabhas, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal and Sharatkumar are also seen in the film. Prabhas appears in the roles of Rudra, Mohan Babu Mahadev Shastri, Mohanlal Kirata and Sharatkumar Nathanathudu.

Talking about the box office, according to Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 31.93 crore net in India, while the worldwide collection was Rs 41.75 crore. Now after the OTT release, it remains to be seen how much love the film gets from the audience.
