Jason Statham’s $40 Million Franchise-Starter Makes Long-Awaited Return to Streaming

Jason Statham may be best known for his role as Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious franchise, but in 2011, he starred in another franchise-starter that has finally returned to streaming nearly 15 years later. Statham stars alongside the late Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games) and Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma) in The Mechanic, the 2011 R-rated action movie following an elite hitman who teaches his craft to an apprentice with a connection to one of his previous victims. The Mechanic had previously been absent from streaming for months, but the film was recently added to Paramount+’s library on September 1.
