Janice Dean Leaves Fox News After 22 Years Amid Health Concerns

Janice Dean, the senior meteorologist for Fox News, is departing the network after 22 years, citing health concerns as the reason. Dean was a regular on Fox & Friends for over two decades. She gave an update on her health in a video message on X and revealed that it was getting overwhelming for her to maintain the hectic schedule while dealing with multiple sclerosis.

Janice Dean, Fox News’ senior meteorologist, who has also been in her role for 22 years, has decided to bid goodbye to the role for good, citing health concerns as the reason.

“For a long time, I was able to handle the early mornings, the many hours on my feet, and the stress of broadcasting live. Getting up at 2:30 in the morning and performing anything is hard, but especially someone who has multiple sclerosis. For those living with MS, the war is inside us,” Dean said in a video that she posted on X.

She added that “thankfully I was diagnosed early, and have been on different therapies for over two decades.” Dean continued, “There is no cure for MS. Over time my symptoms have progressed. Unfortunately, lack of sleep and stress are some of the biggest triggers.”

She revealed that her doctors “agreed that stepping away was necessary for my health.”

Dean wrote in the caption of the X post, “I know so many of you have been wondering where I’ve been. Please know I’ve read your comments, prayers and words of support and kindness. It meant the world to me. Goodbyes are hard. But they are necessary before you can meet again…”

Apart from her time on Fox & Friends, Dean also contributed to Fox Weather. Apart from this, she also hosted a podcast and authored Mostly Sunny and Make Your Own Sunshine.

Fox News Media also acknowledged Janice Dean’s contributions to the network in a statement, praising her “warmth, resilience, and dedication.”
