Jaden Smith’s New Horror Movie Turns a Sensory-Assault Livestream Into The Hunger Games

Jaden Smith has joined the cast of a horror movie that takes a leaf out of The Hunger Games. The film is directed by Alex Ullom, known for 2025’s psychological horror title It Ends.

Neon has announced its cast for the upcoming horror movie, 4×4: The Event. According to its official description, the story will feature “eight contestants as they enter an illegal sensory-assault livestream where they must kill or be killed using only what they can order online.”

The movie wrapped up its principal photography recently and has been produced by Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios. It also marks the second collaboration between director Ullom and Neon following his hit debut It Ends.

Who else is starring in the new 4 X 4: The Event movie with Jaden Smith?

Besides Jaden Smith, 4×4: The Event’s cast will also feature other notable names including Sophia Lillis (IT, Gretel & Hansel, All Her Fault), Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Marcel Ruiz (One Day at a Time), and Quintessa Swindell (Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma).

Other key cast members of 4×4: The Event are Maddie Phillips (Gen V, Teenage Bounty Hunters), Mitchell Cole (It Ends), and Jacob Tremblay (Room, Wonder, Good Boys).

As per reports, its worldwide rights were acquired by Neon earlier this year. The company has been expanding a lot lately with its outstanding library of movies.

In 2026, Neon showcased seven films at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, including the Palme D’Or winner Fjord. The drama, helmed by Cristian Mungiu, has already received raving reviews ahead of its October 9 release in theaters. Currently, it sits with a spectacular Tomatometer score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

As for 4×4: The Event, it has Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Osgood Perkins, Chris Ferguson, Haley Johnson, and Evan Barber as the producers. Additionally, Ben Ross, Jakob Pollack, Rami Yasin, Simmy Wolf, Jesse Savath, and Marlaina Mah are serving as the executive producers.

4×4: The Event has yet to receive an official release window.
