Jackass 5’s Popcorn Bucket Is the Dumb Movie Tie-In the Franchise Deserves

Jackass 5 has unveiled a special popcorn bucket one lucky fan can win. The new bucket is also exactly the dumb and hilarious tie-in the franchise has become known for.

Ahead of Jackass: Best and Last’s release later this month, the team behind the movie introduced the Wee Man popcorn bucket. It is a life-size replica of Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, a prominent cast member in the franchise. The life-size popcorn “bucket” is available to Cinemark movie reward members, who can enter to win the bucket by simply buying tickets to the movie.

The new popcorn bucket, which is obviously anything but a bucket, is a completely stupid idea, but one that fits right at home in the world of Jackass. The team behind the movie has always been fine making fun of themselves, so turning Wee Man into a gigantic popcorn bucket feels perfect as a marketing stunt for what is likely to be the last time we see him get up to some chaotic stunts in the movie.

While the bucket itself is a hilarious idea, there is one downside to it all. Unfortunately for fans who might want one, the popcorn bucket isn’t actually available to buy. Instead, only one fan will be able to take one home via a giveaway. It’s a smart idea, but it also would’ve been hilarious and in line with the Jackass franchise to make the bucket available for retail.

Seeing people walking around theaters with gigantic Wee Man buckets in tow would’ve been exactly the type of stupid stunt I could see Jackass getting away with. Instead, we’ll have to wait and see if the Jackass folks come up with an actual, purchasable popcorn bucket, maybe one that features its own funny gags.
