Casualty fans. We are so back.

After a week off air, the BBC medical drama will return to our screens this evening.

Suffice to say that Casualty fans are made of tough stuff. As well as loving the Holby ED staff members who regularly have their lives put in jeopardy, you watch some pretty grim scenes where patients are in danger, and you also have to deal with the show regularly not airing on a Saturday night.

The medical drama’s latest boxset Lethal Legacy took a pause last week, due to an event airing on BBC One.

But fear not – I’m here with good news this week.

Here’s everything you need to know about the schedule, plus the drama that’s happened recently.

Is Casualty on tonight and if so what time?

Yes, Casualty will be airing on BBC One this evening.

The episode, already available to watch on BBC iPlayer, will be broadcasted on the channel at 8:10pm.

Why wasn’t Casualty on last week?

Casualty didn’t air on May 16, due to the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final being broadcasted instead.

The UK’s entry, Look Mum No Computer, ended up finishing last.

The singer, whose real name is Sam Battle, performed his electro-punk song Eins, Zwei, Drei at the controversial Eurovision Grand Final in Vienna, Austria, on the night.

And while Bulgaria’s Darina Nikolaeva Yotova, aka Dara, was crowned victorious with 516 points, thanks to her catchy pop song Bangaranga, for the UK, it was a very different story.

Despite his best efforts, in the end, Look No Computer continued the downward trend for the UK with one of our worst results yet. In the end, we received zero points from the audience vote and a measly one vote from Ukraine in the jury vote.

That means the total was… you guessed it… one point, coming in 25th out of 25 countries.

What has happened in Casualty’s Lethal Legacy so far?

Lethal Legacy kicked off with the fear a new pandemic was about to spread. Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) and his team put measures in place at the hospital to deal with the increase in patients with respiratory problems, but they also had to deal with the arrival of the military.

The group was led by Colonel Jack Bard (Mark Womack), and was at Holby City Hospital to try and help manage the chaos.

In the most recent episode, Flynn discovered a disturbing secret about Jack, who he knows from time in the military himself.

An explosion at the Wyvern Hill Estate saw Jack and his soldiers arrive. They quickly discovered that the estate was also the location of a toxic waste dump.

Following another explosion, one of Jack’s soldiers ended up getting injured. In the ED, Flynn examined him, but was terribly worried when he found bruises on the young man’s back.

Flynn attempted to find answers, but Jack arrived before he could get to the truth. He shut the exchange down, and Flynn was left shaken.

Charlie Fairhead is returning to the show (Picture: BBC)

Back in April, it was revealed that Derek Thompson will reprise his role as Charlie Fairhead.

He played the character from the very start of the show way back in 1986 until 2024, when Charlie made the decision to retire.

The full details regarding Charlie’s return, including whether he’ll be back as a nurse, patient, or to just visit the hospital, hasn’t been revealed, but Metro understands that he will only be on our screens for a short period.
