The title of Insidious 6 was recently revealed, along with confirmation on when the trailer for the long-running horror franchise’s next chapter would arrive. Filming on the sixth installment, first announced in May 2024, reportedly began in late September 2025 and wrapped several months ago.

Insidious 6 reveals new title and first trailer release date

The marketing team behind Insidious 6 took a unique creative approach in revealing the official title, Out of the Further. At a public event in Los Angeles, a group of performers, clad in white and red clothes and sporting smudgy facial makeup, split into different subgroups and connected in distinct styles to mimic the shapes of the letters of the film’s name.

This was accompanied by the trailer announcement, confirming that the first official footage of Insidious 6 would drop tomorrow (Monday).

Insidious: Out of the Further premieres in the U.S. on August 21, 2026. Originally set for August 29, 2025, it was removed from the release schedule earlier. The movie was previously titled Insidious: The Bleeding World.

Production wrapped in November 2025, according to writer-director Jacob Chase. He confirmed it via Instagram, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for their hard work.

The synopsis reads, “A trio of stalkers infiltrate a quiet suburb and force a new family into the astral plane, where they uncover a terrifying truth: the Further is bleeding into the real world.”

In addition to writing and helming Insidious 6, Chase also co-developed the story with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Meanwhile, Jason Blum (Blumhouse Productions), James Wan (Atomic Monster), Oren Peli, and Leigh Whannell co-produced the feature. Sony Pictures Releasing handles the distribution.

Amelia Eve, Island Austin, Sam Spruell, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Laura Gordon make up the main cast. Lin Shaye also appears in the movie, reprising her role of Elise Rainier from previous installments.

Rumors initially suggested that Insidious 6 would be the horror series’ last entry. However, Shaye debunked them in a Facebook post and shot down claims that it would be her last appearance in the franchise. She clarified, “WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!”
