Kelly Clarkson got emotional on her show after guest Rita Wilson acknowledged how much she appreciated Clarkson and her impact on the talk show scenario since the show started. Clarkson, whose show is coming to an end after this season, was left evidently emotional when Wilson said this.

During the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the veteran talk show host was left in tears after Rita Wilson expressed her admiration for her. Kelly Clarkson got evidently emotional during the live-taping as the audience cheered her on. The show is coming to an end after this season.

“I just wanna say one thing before we go,” Wilson said on the show. “I wanna thank you for the years that you’ve been doing your show.”

The Sleepless in Seattle actress continued, “I wanna thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television. The fact that you love music. That you have brought so much music to daytime that you have shared with us. Your voice, your gifts, and everyone else’s, and your incredible band. I really wanna thank you because it has made a big change in my life. So thank you, Kelly.”

The audience cheered loudly as Clarkson became visibly emotional. “I’m fine,” the veteran host said. She then got up from her seat and hugged her guest. “Oh my God,” Clarkson said, “I’m like, ‘Shut it off!’ It’s okay.”

Kelly Clarkson announced in February that the show would come to an end after the season concluded. She said that she was ending the show so she could “prioritize” her children.

Clarkson’s show debuted in 2019. The show earned twenty-two Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment and Outstanding Talk Show. Clarkson also won Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2023.
