Former I’m A Celebrity star Kadeena Cox has shared a lighthearted update on her health.

The Paralympian, who was diagnosed with MS after having a stroke in 2014, shared a clip where she followed a viral trend that involves pretending to wipe away tears before flashing a peace sign.

The video included on-screen text that read: “Getting told you have multiple sclerosis and you have to use a wheelchair at 23.”

In the video description, she added: “When life gives you lemons. Living my best wheelchair baddie life.”

Commenters shared their own wheelchair stories

The reel amassed 26,100 views, with commenters showing support and sharing their own stories of being in a wheelchair.

“Hugs,” one wrote. ” I first found [out] at age 24, I am the same as you, but you won [gold] at Paralympics. Be proud whoever you are.”

“I don’t have MS but I’ve finally had to think about a power chair something I never thought I would,” another added. “You actually have helped me with your posts, so thank you.”

“It was bad enough for me in my early 50s becoming a Wheelie, I couldn’t imagine it happening at your age,” a third commented. “You look like you’re handling it so well. I know we all behave differently behind closed doors. Keep going, girl, you’re slaying it.”

While a fourth shared: “Fellow MS baddie, I think of you every time I have a bad MS day. Thank you for sharing with us!”

Kadeena needed I’m A Celeb campmates’ help to manage her MS

Kadeena is an acclaimed Paralympian. She made history in Rio 2016 by being the first athlete to win gold in two categories: athletics and cycling. She then won a further gold in Tokyo 2020 in cycling.

Hot on the heels of her athletic glory, she was part of the 2021 I’m A Celebrity…. However, she was the second star to be voted out.

After her eviction, she revealed in an interview with The Sun that her MS was so bad during the show that she needed help getting to the toilet.

“I thought my MS would be nice to me,” she said. “Turns out MS is never nice to you, so I really struggled with the fatigue and my spasms were being quite a problem, and there was points where my speech was really slurred and everyone was really worried about me.

“There was times when literally the campmates had to help me get into bed, they had to help me get to the toilet, and it was a real struggle,” she added.
