With so much available, some of the best series fly under the radar, and that is the case with the BBC's Atlantis. Though it ran for only two seasons, the 2013 fantasy series offers an exciting story, a hilarious central trio, and plenty of heroics. Created by Merlin's Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy, along with Misfits'Howard Overman, it explores Greek mythology, centering on the hero Jason (Jack Donnelly) and the two unlikely friends he meets, Pythagoras (Robert Emms), whose name you may recognize from math class, and a down-on-his-luck Hercules (played by Game of Thrones' Mark Addy). While it weaves together many common legends from Greek mythology, Atlantis delivers its own take, offering several surprises even for those familiar with the stories.
