Ulf White (Tom Bennett) and Hugh Hammer (Kieran Bew) most likely saw one of the Green Men, as Daemon (Matt Smith) did at the end of Season 2. It's a nod to an essential piece of book lore from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, which was never included in HBO's Game of Thrones. It's clear that House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal wants to draw attention to this facet of Westeros, which means that this prequel could delve deeper into the magical mysteries of the franchise than the main series ever did.
