The walls at long last begin to close in on Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) in Hollyoaks as a number of residents grow suspicious of his actions.
The savage gardener, as viewers know, has been claiming lives for decades, keeping track of his grisly crimes in an old book that he carries around with him.
Since his arrival in the eponymous village a little two years ago in-universe, he’s murdered fan-favourites including Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith) and Dennis Savage (Joe Tracini).
Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) also fell victim to the crazed killer, as did abuser Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) and Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe), who worked out his murderous secrets.
Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) had an inkling of what her father was capable of when she helped him bury her beloved cousin Dilly but she uncovered the dark truth in August after finding Robbie’s remains at the allotment.
Unwilling to stay silent, the former high school teacher resolved to tell the world what Jez was capable of but he ultimately made it his mission to keep her quiet, staging her death and making it seem as though she was the serial killer in the family this whole time.

Sienna now languishes below deck on The Love Boat, where she’s being held prisoner alongside best mate Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), whose capture was very much a case of wrong-place-wrong-time.
Determined to break free, save her ailing friend and clear her name, Sienna resolves to kill Jez on screen this week but the situation doesn’t go exactly as planned.

Instead, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) discovers the prisoners while investigating her husband’s missing cash, believing that Jez is the one in possession of it.
Sienna and Ste plead for help but, rather than saving their lives, devilish Clare instead forms a plan, believing that she can use the hostages as a way to blackmail Jez and get the upper hand.
Jez, however, has bigger issues than Clare as John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) wakes up in a panic following an altercation with the killer and it triggers a memory as he recalls what really happened on the night that Bobby was killed.

Putting two and two together, John Paul confronts Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) with his suspicions. Liberty, however, fails to believe JP due his mumbled words and, smelling alcohol on his breath, she urges him to seek help.
Things escalate further when Jez gets wind of the conversation via Liberty and, determined to get answers, he confronts John Paul, who begins to doubt his own memories.
The deputy head teacher resolves to get sober and uncover the truth but, unwilling to allow such a thing to happen, Jez takes advantage of the opportunity to silence JP for good.
The question is: will John Paul die at the hands of Jez?
That remains to be seen but this all transpires as preparations are made for Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) plea hearing and Diane (Alex Fletcher) is left distressed when Darren and Nancy Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson and Jessica Fox) cancel their plans to attend.

Jez and Liberty decide to go and show their support.
Tony is a bag of nerves and Diane reveals that the McQueens won’t be in attendance due to John Paul’s fate. The update sends a shiver down Liberty’s spine as she recalls the last conversation she had with him and, knowing what she told Jez, she begins to fear the worst.
As the plea hearing gets underway, Lib is unable to settle her mind and thus calls Dodger (Danny Mac) to share her fears. Dodger subsequently arrives at court – but just what does he know?
Is this the beginning of the end for Jez? And will Sienna and Ste be rescued before it’s too late?
Elsewhere in the village…
It’s a devastating day for Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) as she learns that Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and Clare’s case has been dropped.

Speaking of Grace, the nightclub owner is heartbroken when Clare confirms that she’s fleeing the village – and this development leaves Froggy (John Middleton) fuming.
On her way out of the village, Clare encounters the teens and – unable to let it go – she grows determined to find out who killed Alistair.

Frankie, Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) are bundled into Clare’s car as she plays twisted game of truth or dare.
Will they be rescued from her grip? And will Clare pay?
