Game of Thrones Mania Had Tyrese Maxey Pushing TNT Crew to Back Seat on Special Day, Reveals 76ers Star

1 week ago 6

One of the youngest stars of the Philadelphia 76ers, Tyrese Maxey, recently revealed a hilarious incident about his reaction to winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. The news was refreshingly human, as he revealed that he was watching an episode of the popular TV series Game of Thrones. And what was Maxey’s unexpected yet interesting reaction to winning the MIP award?

The “pause the show” moment for Tyrese Maxey

Tyrese Maxey revealed he was sitting on a couch, indulging in a fantasy world of Westeros, just when he had to pause it and do something more important. He revealed, “I was laying on my couch, watching Game of Thrones. A really good episode. I had TNT playing in the background.” Later when it was announced that Maxey won the award. He said, “Once I heard, ‘Oh! Tyrese Maxey!’, I was like, ‘Alright let me get up, pause the show, & do the interview.

Maxey’s decision to pause his leisure activity to acknowledge the award speaks volumes about his character (even behind the camera). There’s a sense of humility and respect for the recognition that shines bright. Tyrese Maxey had an average, of 2023–24 seasons, and has averaged 20.3 points per game. Great, right?

He also averaged only 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. But this year, he improved his skills and fitness. This season, he averages 25.9 points per game. He also averages 6.2 assists per game & 3.7 rebounds per game. He is the second-best offensive player on the team in the regular season. Maxey’s offensive prowess increased, and his ability to contribute to the team’s success was important for the success of the 76ers.

The road ahead for the 76ers

The 76ers defeated the Miami Heat in the playoff qualification match. While Maxey’s award is a personal triumph, the focus for him and the 76ers will undoubtedly shift back to the ongoing playoff series against the New York Knicks. Currently, down 0-2, the pressure is on for Philadelphia to bounce back. But Maxey’s performance has been a standout for the team. In the 2 games against the Knicks, he has scored 34 points. And he has been involved in 5.5 rebounds and 7 assists.

Will Maxey recapture the magic he displayed throughout the regular season, propelling the 76ers back into contention, or will the Knicks continue their dominance? Only time will tell.

But, certainly, the 76ers won’t go down without a fight. The Knicks may have had home-court advantage in the first two games, but they shouldn’t underestimate the 76ers, as they have players such as Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. With a Most Improved Player on their roster, the 76ers have a chance to come back and win the series.
