September is upon us, and with a new month, we’re getting a whole new batch of page-to-screen adaptations to get excited about. You’ll find some exciting adaptations hitting theaters this month. But if you prefer to stay home and watch an entire series in one sitting, some new things are also coming to streaming! Either way, your viewing calendar is booked for the month. Happy watching!

Blood & Myth (Hulu, September 4)

Hulu’s Blood & Myth is a documentary based on the Audible original audiobook Midnight Son, created by James Dommek Jr., Isaac Kestenbaum, and Josie Holtzman. Native American folklore and the American justice system collide when Dommek investigates a string of violent crimes in a remote Native village in Northern Alaska. The documentary is directed by Kahlil Hudson and produced by Jonas Bell Pasht and Jonah Bekhor for Citizen Jones. Dommek also serves as an executive producer.

The Dead Girls (Netflix, September 10)

Based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel of the same name, this Netflix series is a drama that follows the Baladro sisters as they build a brothel empire and turn to a life of crime and murder in 1960s Mexico. Arcelia Ramírez and Paulina Gaitán play the Baladro sisters. The series also stars Joaquín Cosío and is directed by Luis Estrada. The full series will drop on Netflix on September 10. Get ready to power through this whole thing in one sitting!
