Some movie franchises are easy to follow along with. Each installment comes in chronological order and you just watch them that way to know everything that's going on. Others are a bit more complex, like Star Wars, Fast and the Furious, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which include prequels and a few timeline jumps. Then there's Halloween, which has seen so many different iterations over its 40-plus years that there are actually several completely unique timelines.
