Emmerdale confirms Joe Tate’s downfall as Dawn takes the ultimate revenge

Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has been suspicious of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) for a while in Emmerdale, but she’s now finally seen the light and decided to plot the ultimate revenge against him.

Everything changed for Dawn when she found the video Joe took of Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) covering up John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) murder at the start of the year. She confronted Joe and was horrified that he had stooped so low and used the footage against a vulnerable mother.

Friendly reminder Dawn knows about Joe stealing Caleb’s kidney, and that he caused the limo crash, but okay.

Joe managed to wiggle his way out of the situation by reminding Dawn that he loves her and their little family a lot. She kissed him, but suffice to say the voice in her head telling her that something was amiss didn’t go away.

When Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) returned from prison, she set about trying to get revenge on Joe for framing her. This featured her heading to Home Farm and threatening him with a shotgun (well, obviously), but things only stopped due to Dawn bursting in and announcing that she’s pregnant with Joe’s baby.

Despite being told by Joe that Moira had got the wrong end of the stick, Dawn couldn’t help pay her a visit in today’s episode.

Moira explained the situation to Dawn, and even told her that Joe cut down Holly Barton’s tree. As she quietly processed that her partner had done nothing but lie to her this year, Dawn headed back to Home Farm to try and work out what to do next.

The charm switched on by Joe didn’t work for Dawn this time. As the episode drew to a close, Dawn met with Moira and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) at the side of a road and explained that it was time to plot revenge.

In true soap style, Cain thought killing Joe would be a great idea, but Moira pointed out that they could approach this situation from a different perspective, and plan something that would see Joe lose everything. According to Moira, this was a better revenge option than death – and Dawn agreed.

Wanting to completely break Joe, Dawn made it clear to Moira and Cain that she was ready to help. Moira told her to go back home and pretend as if nothing bad has happened so Joe is none the wiser, and prepare for the next step.

Keep your friends close but your new enemy…who’s also your partner…closer, right?

As Dawn drove away, Moira chuckled to herself, ready to get stuck in, and absolutely certain they were going to come out on top.

They need to be careful and smart though, because if Joe clocks onto what this trio are up to – who knows what he’ll do next…
