October 2022 was a pivotal month for fans of DC Comics. Following the debacle of Batgirl while still in post-production in 2021, it became abundantly clear that the DC Extended Universe had run its course and was in need of a re-jig. Warner Bros. Discovery decided to replace president of DC Films, Walter Hamada, with the duo of James Gunn and Peter Safranas Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios. Both were placed in charge of delivering on a 10-year plan for DC adaptations.
