Days of Our Lives’ AnnaLynne McCord, who plays Cat, is now engaged. The actress confirmed this good news in an interview, including giving details of the proposal.

In her interview with PEOPLE, Days of Our Lives’ star AnnaLynne McCord confirmed she is engaged to Danny Cipriani. The former rugby player proposed to her almost four months ago during Christmas at her home in Los Angeles. “I cried for 10 minutes straight,” McCord remembered the big day. She continued, “At some point, I realized I had to answer. I said, ‘Yes, but I can’t even speak,’ and he replied, ‘That’s okay, it’s actually a good sign that you are quiet for once.’ Then, we’re all laughing.”

Moreover, the couple had been thinking about marriage for a long time. They separately bought promise rings for each other as a symbol of their commitment. Meanwhile, McCord was thinking about popping the question herself. “It occurred to me that I should just propose to him,” the 38-year-old shared. She further told her sisters about her decision, but they asked her not to go ahead.

McCord continued, “I decided to tell him that was my plan, but then the look on his face convinced me not to, and he fessed up and told me he had plans to propose to me on our upcoming trip to Cambodia.” Before the trip, AnnaLynne noticed her beau and sister Rachel McCord, “whispering,” about something. She thought it was related to the Cambodia trip when Cipriani and Rachel asked her to get dolled up for a movie.

McCord refuses to do so much for a movie, but her sisters insisted. However, she was unaware of the surprise coming her way. “I come downstairs, and there are rose petals everywhere and a rose petal heart. Danny, down on one knee with a ring, waiting for me to step into the heart,” she said. McCord accepted the proposal and wore a 15-carat, emerald-cut diamond ring from her beau.
