There is no denying the brilliance of Cristin Milioti, with her recent performance in The Penguin garnering critical acclaim and earning her the Emmy Award for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. However, her ability to hold her own against Andy Samberg in the sci-fi dramedy Palm Springs should not be understated. The movie itself is fascinating in the way it doesn't dwell on its time loop premise and instead examines the characters trapped within it. It answers every curiosity a viewer may have about the possibilities of repeating the same day, but does so in a deeply personal manner. Andy Samberg plays to type, using sarcasm and physical humor to portray Nyles' disassociation with reality and emphasizing just how long he has been in the loop.
