The Webster’s return home to Coronation Street following their family holiday next week and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) is immediately unimpressed to find his brother, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) back at work in the garage.

Kevin fired his shady brother last month, terrified that his wife, Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) was inching closer to an affair with him (unaware that they’d already slept together).

While he thought that sacking Carl would force him to leave Weatherfield, Kevin’s plan spectacularly backfired and Carl decided to stick around, claiming to want to be there for sister Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) as she deals with her young-onset dementia diagnosis, though later telling Abi that he was staying for her.

They managed to evade detection for a while, but following a terrifying incident with Debbie during which she collapsed, the two were discovered by an ever-scheming Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).

When toxic Tracy turns up the heat, demanding cash for her silence, Abi panicked and proposed that she and Carl run away to Germany, while he decided to ramp up his car theft to raise the money.

Abi flew to Mallorca to join Kevin on holiday, a holiday she’d previously refused to go on in order to spend more time to Carl, while he convinced Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to give him some shifts at the garage.

When Kevin returns, he’s infuriated and demands Carl leave the garage and not return.

Now without the money to pay Tracy, Carl is desperate to raise funds and makes an incredibly dangerous decision, that’ll have lasting repercussions for everybody…
