The City of Jacksonville launched a mental health initiative Monday during a special ceremony at City Hall.
Mayor Donna Deegan, City Council President Ron Salem, Chief Health Officer Dr. Sunil Joshi, and Executive Director of Health Programs Lynn Sherman spoke at the event.
The announcement comes on Mental Health Awareness Month — a month to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in people’s lives.
