Long before Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast dazzled audiences in 2017, another version was being developed by Guillermo del Toro, which one star regrets turning down. In 2012, Del Toro confirmed that he would direct the film, titled Beauty, for Warner Bros., with a script written by Pride and Prejudice screenwriter Andrew Davies, and Emma Watson set to star.
