CBS has officially set the show that will take over The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s 11:35 p.m. timeslot, ahead of its upcoming final episode broadcast on May 21, 2026. The long-time late-night news talk show was canceled on July 17, 2025, after eleven seasons.

What CBS talk show will replace The Late Show with Stephen Colbert?

According to THR, CBS’s comedy talk show, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, is replacing The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at the network’s 11:35 p.m. timeslot. This new schedule will begin on May 22 for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, a day after The Late Show’s conclusion. Before this change, Comics Unleashed had been airing in the 12:35 a.m. slot after The Late Show with Stephen Colbert since September 2025. In addition, another Allen Media Group-produced show is also moving up a slot. Jon Kelley’s Funny You Should Ask show is now set to air at 12:35 a.m., following Comics Unleashed.

“I created and launched Comics Unleashed 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love – make people laugh,” Allen said in a statement. “I truly appreciate CBS’s confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block of Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask, because the world can never have enough laughter.”

The half-hour comedy talk show is hosted by businessman, producer, and comedian Byron Allen. It features four comedians at the top of the game sharing their side-splitting stories with Allen in front of a live studio audience. Since its creation in 2006, more than 500 comics have appeared on the show, including Anthony Anderson, Cedric the Entertainer, Chelsea Handler, Gabriel Iglesias, Howie Mandel, David Alan Grier, Margaret Cho, Mike Epps, and more.
