Blue Box Season 2 Sets Netflix Streaming Month With Cast, Teaser & More 

Blue Box Season 2 has officially taken a major step forward, with new details confirming its Netflix streaming window. The announcement also includes updates on the cast, staff, and first teaser materials. The upcoming season, which continues the story of Taiki and Chinatsu, is scheduled to premiere later this year.

Blue Box is set to return with a second season, with several key details now confirmed regarding its release timeline, creative team, and latest visuals. The renewal was announced shortly after the first season concluded with its 25th episode in late March. 

The second season will begin its broadcast in Japan on October 4, airing on TBS and 27 affiliated channels. On the streaming side, Netflix has confirmed that the anime will be available globally in October 2026. However, the platform has not yet revealed a specific release date for international audiences.

Alongside the announcement, a teaser trailer and a teaser visual have been unveiled, marking the first official look at the upcoming season. The promotional material hints at the continuation of the storyline, which focuses on Taiki Inomata, a first-year student at Eimei Senior High and a member of the badminton team, and Chinatsu Kano, a second-year student and a key player on the girls’ basketball team.

The new season is expected to further explore the gradual shift in their relationship as they grow closer while navigating through their individual ambitions.

The production also brings a notable change behind the scenes. Daisuke Sakō will serve as the director for the second season, taking over from Yūichirō Yano, who directed the first installment. In addition, Yoshino Aoyama has joined the cast and will voice Yumeka Kido, introducing a new character into the story.

Based on Kouji Miura’s manga Ao no Hako, the anime is produced by Telecom Animation Film and remains one of Netflix’s Japanese original titles.
