The trailer does not show the new playable character. Instead, it’s more a celebration of BlazBlue’s history as a game and franchise, interspersing in-game footage with anime scenes and clips from previous tournaments such as ArcRevo Japan Online 2020. More information on the character and their availability will have to wait until EVO 2026, which will run from June 26 to 28, 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction is a 2D fighting game that concludes the main BlazBlue series, and it originally came out in November 2015 for arcades in Japan. The console versions came out worldwide the next year. Central Fiction also introduced characters from side content, with Naoto from Bloodedge Experience and Mai from Remix Heart and Variable Heart. However, the Arc System Works Showcase 2026 already confirmed that the new character will be someone from the main series, so it’s unlikely that we will get someone from the latest spin-off, Entropy Effect.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction is readily available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC, and Arc System Works will announce a new playable character at EVO 2026.
