Blake Lively and Taylor Swift both have cause to celebrate - but it's what isn't being said that has everyone talking

On Wednesday, the internet was ablaze after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in an adorable Instagram post.

It seemed to be all anyone could talk about, taking over every corner of the world wide web.

But one person has remained silent about the news is Blake Lively, who herself had reason to celebrate this week – as it's her 38th birthday.

Kelce got down on one knee a few weeks ago, and Swift waited to share the news until August 26 – just one day after Lively's birthday.

For those who aren't up to date, Swift and Lively have been best friends since 2015, however reports say that the pair are no-longer on speaking terms as Swift was subpoenaed in Lively's legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star.

Swift was dragged into the feud and although the subpoena has now been dropped, sources have told People that Swift and Lively's friendship "has halted," adding that "Taylor wants no part in this drama".

While thousands took to Instagram to publicly congratulate Swift on the news, Lively has remained completely silent on the matter.

And while Lively shared an abundance of Happy Birthday messages from friends on her own Instagram page, Swift was not one of them.

The engagement post coming just one day after Lively's birthday might be coincidence, but plenty of fans think that is highly unlikely – especially after looking back at the tracklist for the singer's upcoming album.

The Life of a Showgirl is set for release on October 3, with the 6th track on the album being titled Ruin The Friendship.

Fans have instantly linked the song to the breakdown of her and Lively's friendship, especially considering the meaning behind her previous track 6 hits.

Swift tends to structure her albums the same, with track 5 always being the most gut wrenching on an album, and track 6 often being quite pointed toward either a famous feud or hitting back at hate.

Previous track 6s include Look What You Made Me Do (Reputation), Mean (Speak Now), Shake it Off (1989), and But Daddy I Love Him (The Tortured Poets Department), so it's fair to assume that Ruin The Friendship might reveal some scathing details.

August 25 usually sees plenty of stars take to social media to wish Lively a happy birthday, with her husband Ryan Reynolds having a long-running tradition of posting a tribute with a twist.

Reynolds has posted almost every year, either cropping Lively out of the images or using noticeably poor photos of his wife to celebrate her birthday – signature humour for the star.

But this year, silence.

According to People's sources, the actress decided to have a quiet birthday this year, focused on spending time with her family.

"She's grateful for Ryan's support over the past year," the insider shared, adding that spending time with Reynolds and their four children "unwinds her.

"She focuses on this," the source concluded.
