Ben Foster Takes Road Safety a Little Too Seriously in This Underrated Psychological Drama

One of the unfortunate consequences of the current entertainment ecosystem is that it is very hard for independent films to break out to mainstream audiences if they aren’t picked up by a distributor with a noted following, such as A24, Neon, or Sony Pictures Classics. Since many of these titles aren’t available to those that don’t have the privilege of living in coastal cities, indie films are often forced to build word-of-mouth once they’ve already been added to a streaming service with little fanfare. Sharp Corneris a compelling psychological drama with dark comedy elements that could have benefited from a wider release, as the ambiguities that it presents offer a great opportunity to start a compelling discussion.
