Batman is having his biggest multimedia moment in years with many upcoming movies and shows. With animated trilogies, live-action sequels, and spin-offs all in the pipeline, the Dark Knight’s upcoming slate has fans excited.
All upcoming Batman-related movies and TV shows
Batman: Knightfall Trilogy
One of the most anticipated upcoming movies is the Batman: Knightfall animated trilogy. Three films that adapt the iconic 1993–1994 comic saga of the same name. Part 1: Knightfall already premiered at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and heads to home release later this year. The R-rated trilogy features the voices of Anson Mount as Bruce Wayne, Michael Mando as Bane, and Pablo Schreiber as Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael.
Batman: Knightfall arc follows Batman as Bane unleashes Arkham Asylum’s entire Rogue’s Gallery on Gotham, eventually breaking the Dark Knight physically and mentally. The follow-up chapters — Knightquest and KnightsEnd — will carry the story through a new Batman taking up the mantle, and Bruce Wayne fighting to reclaim it. Director Jeff Wamester and writer Jeremy Adams lead the project.
Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2
The critically acclaimed Prime Video animated series returns on July 31, 2026, with all 10 episodes dropping at once. Hamish Linklater is back as Bruce Wayne in this 1940s noir-inspired take. Season 2 introduces the Joker — teased in the Season 1 finale — along with new faces like Edward Nygma and Roxy Rocket, promising a darker, sharper arc.
The Batman Part 2
Matt Reeves’ long-awaited sequel brings Robert Pattinson back as a snowbound Bruce Wayne in a Gotham gripped by winter. Production is underway, with the film tracking toward an October 2027 theatrical release.
The Brave and the Bold
James Gunn’s main DCU continuity introduces its version of Batman alongside Damian Wayne, Bruce’s son and the franchise’s canonical Robin, in The Brave and the Bold. No release date has been confirmed yet, but the film remains one of the most anticipated ones in DC’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate.
Honourable Mentions
Dynamic Duo
This animated spin-off steps away from Bruce Wayne to tell the story of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd — Batman’s first two Robins — before either wore the cape. Directed by Arthur Mintz and produced by Matt Reeves, the film releases June 30, 2028, and sits outside DCU continuity as a standalone story.
Clayface
Batman’s shape-shifting villain gets his own R-rated body horror origin film in the DCU’s first proper horror movie. Tom Rhys Harries plays Matt Hagen, a rising actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster, leading him to a radical procedure that turns his body into clay. Directed by James Watkins, the film also stars Naomi Ackie and Max Minghella. Clayface hits theaters on October 23, 2026.
