Asking for a friend: I feel like my contraception is causing headaches and changing my periods but my doctor told me to just deal with it. Are there any other options?

Q: I went to my GP recently as I felt that the contraception I am on at the moment is causing some headaches and changing my periods. She was very dismissive and said that was all just normal and just to deal with it.
