The episode "Requiem" reveals that Axis Mundi, the realm that connects Kong's ancestral home of Hollow Earth to Earth, allows people to travel through time. Lee Shaw (Russell) first picks up on this when he investigates a tunnel that he discovered in 1982, which is actually carrying a signal that he sent out in 1962. It turns out that another character intends to use Axis Mundi's power to radically alter history.
