American Horror Story’s Biggest Star Officially Returns in Season 13 Photo

American Horror Story’s biggest star is back in the first look at Season 13 of the popular anthology show.

Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story first premiered on FX back in 2011. The horror show has now gone on for 11 seasons, each of which features a different set of characters in a new setting, while there was also a spin-off show, American Horror Stories, that premiered in 2021 and has run for three seasons.

What do we know about American Horror Story Season 13?

It was previously announced that Jessica Lange would be returning for American Horror Story Season 13. Now, Ryan Murphy Productions has shared a first look at Lange’s return on Instagram as production on the new season has officially begun.

Lange, who is seen in the first-look image wearing a blue dress and heels, has a long history with American Horror Story. She played Constance Langdon in the show’s first season, “Murder House,” and then later reprised that role in Season 8, “Apocalypse,” which is also the last time she’s been on the show. Between those seasons, Lange also played Sister Jude Martin in Season 2 (“Asylum), Fiona Goode in Season 3 (“Coven”), and Elsa Mars in Season 4 (“Freak Show”).

She won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for the “Coven” season, while she was also nominated for “Asylum” and “Freak Show.” Plot details for American Horror Story Season 3 remain under wraps at this time, meaning its unclear if one of Lange’s previous AHS characters is returning or if she’s playing someone new.

The cast of Season 13 also includes Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. A premiere date has not yet been set.
