Directed by Jay Roach, The Roses is a satirical dark comedy with Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead roles. It is loosely based on Warren Adler’s book, The War of the Roses. The movie also stars Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, Zoë Chao, and Ncuti Gatwa.

The story centers around Theo and Ivy, a picture-perfect couple, where nothing is actually perfect. One succeeds in their career while the other stays home. But years later, their roles switch. Jealousy takes place, and they blame each other for lost dreams. Their fights turn nasty as things fall apart quickly.

Roach reunites with Shapiro, a Primetime Emmy winner who has also composed for Tropic Thunder, Severance, The Intern, and Yellowjackets, among other popular movies and shows.
