Coronation Street is lining up a major shock tonight (April 23), with a murder set to rock Weatherfield – and there’s no shortage of potential victims in the frame.

With Betsy Swain stumbling upon a lifeless body, viewers are left guessing who’s met their end. Five names are firmly in the spotlight – Carl, Theo, Maggie, Megan and Jodie. But who is really in danger? Here’s how things are shaping up, from least to most likely to be killed.

Least likely Coronation Street victim – 1. Jodie Ramsey

Jodie Ramsey has certainly brought drama with her since arriving on the cobbles, hiding a string of dark secrets from Shona and the Platts. Her twisted desire to take over Shona’s life, paired with her deep resentment towards her sister, has already made her a complicated addition.

There’s also that mysterious box of trinkets and the looming threat from Olivia and her dad’s associates, all of which could spell trouble. Still, it feels far too soon for Jodie’s story to come to an abrupt end.

There’s clearly much more to uncover about her past and motivations, and it would be a surprise if the show cut her journey short just months after introducing her. For now, she looks set to stick around.

Coronation Street victim 2. Maggie Driscoll

Maggie Driscoll is no stranger to dark deeds, having killed her husband in the past and helped cover for Will after his attack on Daniel. Fiercely protective of her family, she’s the kind of woman who won’t hesitate to act if pushed.

With tensions rising thanks to Melanie’s arrival and Maggie now aware of Megan’s behaviour towards Will, the stakes are higher than ever. There’s always the chance things could spiral and backfire on her.

But Maggie isn’t easily outplayed. She’s proven time and again that she knows exactly how to stay one step ahead. Rather than being a victim, she feels far more likely to be pulling the strings if things turn deadly.

3. Carl Webster

Carl Webster has managed to alienate just about everyone around him, especially after framing Debbie and sending her to prison over Billy Mayhew’s death. It’s fair to say he’s not exactly short of enemies.

That makes him a believable target if someone decides they’ve had enough. On the other hand, his exit could just as easily come in the form of a quiet getaway, with Carl finally following through on his plan to leave for Germany.

If he were to die, the fallout might be limited, with Debbie already cutting ties. It wouldn’t be the most impactful twist, which leaves his fate hanging in the balance.

4. Theo Silverton

Theo Silverton’s storyline has been building for some time, and with his abusive behaviour now exposed, things are reaching a boiling point. Despite everything, he remains fixated on Todd, refusing to walk away.

With Todd’s loved ones rallying around him, it’s not hard to imagine someone stepping in to put a permanent stop to Theo’s actions. The tension surrounding him makes him a strong contender.

That said, there’s also a compelling case for seeing him face justice properly. Watching him answer for his actions in prison would be a fitting end – though not everyone in Weatherfield may be willing to wait for that outcome.

Most likely Coronation Street victim – 5. Megan Walsh

Megan Walsh finds herself in the most dangerous position of all. Her grooming of Will Driscoll has now come to light, and while hard evidence is still being gathered, the Driscoll family are closing in.

Eva, Leanne and Toyah have already taken big risks in their efforts to expose her, and it’s clear this situation is only escalating. Megan may not realise it yet, but she’s taken on a family that won’t back down.

With Maggie’s deadly past and the rest of the Driscolls unlikely to forgive or forget, Megan stands out as the easiest target. She has no real ties in Weatherfield, making her exit more straightforward from a storytelling point of view.

While seeing her face justice might be the ideal outcome, all signs point to Megan being the one most at risk as tonight’s dramatic events unfold.
