Sam Raimi has pretty much always been a horror guy, if you want to tie him to just one genre, and that’s largely thanks to The Evil Dead being the film that made him a well-known director. But he often combines horror with comedy, which can be seen in both Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, and also, perhaps less evenly, in Drag Me to Hell. But his filmography is more diverse than some might give it credit for, and he’s also demonstrated a knack for helming superhero movies, with his first coming out in 1990, his most famous ones being situated in the 2000s, and his most recent being back in 2022. And while they're all definable as superhero movies, they otherwise differ quite a bit, in terms of scale and other genres that are dipped into.
