Alex Jimenez has been suspended by Bournemouth following allegations that had exchanged inappropriate messages with a teenage girl.
Screenshots showing a text exchange between Jimenez and the 15-year-old were posted on social media on Friday.
Bournemouth have now launched an investigation and have confirmed that Jimenez will not be included in their squad for their Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday.
A statement from Bournemouth on Friday afternoon read: ‘AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez.
‘The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
‘As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.’
Jimenez initially joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan last summer before the Premier League side made the move permanent for £16.5 million in February.
