After winning her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Hacks star Hannah Einbinder has confirmed that HBO Max’s critically acclaimed comedy series will be concluding its run with the upcoming fifth season. Besides Einbinder, Jean Smart also won another Emmy Award for her leading performance as Deborah Vance in Season 4.

What did Hannah Einbinder say about the Emmy-winning HBO Max show’s final season?

During a recent interview with Variety, Einbinder shared that the cast and crew will be returning to the set of Hacks next week to start production on the show’s fifth and final season. For her, ending the show despite its continued critical success is the right thing to do since she believes that they shouldn’t “overstay your (their) welcome.

“It (Season 5) will feel different,” Einbinder said. “We’re going to start [filming] next week, and knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet. But I think it’s right, you know? It’s nice to do something as many times as it should be done. Not overstay your welcome. Rip it and do it and laugh and cry.”

Hacks is created and executive produced by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who are also serving as showrunners. The show also stars Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari. Season 4 also featured Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore, III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, Sandy Honig, and Jake Shane.
