A 'Scrubs' Fan-Favorite Is Coming Back for the Revival — But There's a Catch

Sacred Heart Hospital's former head nurse is checking back in for the upcoming Scrubs reboot series at ABC. Judy Reyes has officially signed on to reprise her role as the no-nonsense Carla Espinosa, one of J.D.'s closest friends on the job and Turk's girlfriend turned wife across the show's eight main seasons. She's the latest alum to rejoin the team, though, unlike the trio of Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke, who also serve as executive producers, her appearance will be limited to a special recurring guest star role. Nonetheless, the casting adds another key piece of the sitcom's success to the puzzle under creator Bill Lawrence.
