Baywatch star Nicole Eggert has shared that she has had a mastectomy following her cancer diagnosis in 2023.
The actor, best known for starring as Summer Quinn in the popular series, had previously been diagnosed with cribriform carcinoma, a rare, usually slow-growing form of breast cancer.
It came after she initially assumed her symptoms – gaining 11kg in three months and suffering ‘terrible pain’ in her breast – were due to menopause.
After sharing in 2024 that she had undergone a single mastectomy, Eggert posted a selfie on Instagram showing that she’d had a second mastectomy with reconstruction surgery.
Posing in a black crop top and white underwear, she wrote in the caption: ‘Had a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday. How was ur weekend? #breastcancer #breastcancerawarness #feelyourselfup @southcoastplasticsurgery.’
Last year, she became emotional sharing an update with fans about her surgery prospects.

‘Hi. I just left a meeting my surgeons and the words they used were I “had a full, complete response [to her chemo]”,’ she explained.
Bursting into tears of joy, she said: ‘What does that mean? My body fully responded to the chemo.
‘There’s no detectable cancer in that area, and I have the green light to go ahead and schedule surgery.’
Referring to her chemotherapy treatments, she then exclaimed: ‘It worked. It worked. It worked!’
After throwing her hands in the air in excitement, Eggert addressed those people who had been negative, saying: ‘It worked. It worked, and now it’s taking care of this problem.’
She concluded: ‘What a way to end the week. It’s my daughter’s birthday, and I’m going to celebrate the heck out of her because she deserves it and has been such a trooper.’

What is cribriform carcinoma?
According to Breast Cancer Now, cribriform breast cancer is a rare type of breast cancer that is usually low grade and slow growing.
It may be mixed with other types of breast cancer, but if it’s not mixed with another type, it’s called pure cribriform.
It is often found during a routine breast screening without any other symptoms.
Symptoms of cribriform carcinoma include:
A lump or thickening of the breast tissue A change of skin texture, such as puckering or dimpling A lump or swelling under the arm Changes to the nipple Discharge from the nipple A change in the size or shape of the breastSpeaking to People magazine, she explained the ‘rough’ journey she had been on receiving her diagnosis.
‘It really was throbbing and hurting,’ she said of the lump, adding: ‘I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at.
‘But the problem was I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done.
‘This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sale through life.’
The actress added that she ‘had panics’ thinking about the fear of the lump growing inside her.
After appearing in Baywatch from 1992 to 1994, Eggert went on to roles in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and Boy Meets World.
She also starred in several Lifetime Christmas films and appeared in reality TV shows such as Celebrity Fit Club and Splash.
