Psychological thrillers fail the second the writing starts showing off instead of tightening the screws. This genre lives or dies on control. It is not enough to have a disturbing premise, an unreliable character, a shocking reveal, or a dark ending people can quote afterward. The script has to know exactly what information to give you, exactly when to give it, and exactly how to make every new detail rewire the one before it.
