Marvel and DC video games have two wildly different problems. Marvel games have relied almost wholly on synergy with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly 20 years, while DC games routinely make decisions that run perpendicular to what fans actually want, and rarely give anyone but Batman a fighting chance beyond mobile games. It’s great to hear that Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games have played such a big role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s action choreography, but few recent Marvel and DC games have felt authentic to the characters’ traditional depictions or the sensation of reading a classic comic.
