Most superhero shows follow the same depressing arc. They start great, build a fanbase, get renewed, and then slowly drift into obscurity. As more seasons get added, writers begin stretching ideas, adding random twists, and sometimes it feels like they are just making things up as they go. Take The Flash, for example. Season 1 worked because Barry (Grant Gustin) was just trying to uncover the identity of the man in the yellow suit who killed his mom. But by the end of the series, every single member of Team Flash had somehow developed superpowers, and every episode seemed to end with the team telling Barry to run faster and then Barry running faster and winning. That's it — that was the formula (rinse and repeat until cancellation).
